15 Days, 15 Looks: DAY 10

To be honest, when I put this outfit together today I didn't really have a style or a trend in mind but looking at these pictures now I am kind of reminded of Serena's style from gossip girl; the classic urban-chic girl with the denim mini skirt and head 'piece'. Sometimes dark colours like blue and maroon go incredibly well together and bring together a sharp and classy feel.

15 Days, 15 Looks: DAY 9

This outfit is inspired by the nautical trend in an unconventional sense. The chained pattern on my t-shirt and the button detail (which isn't shown very well in these photos) on my skirt add a subtle nautical expression. The look is also spring-inspired with mellow colour tones. Mixing up and clashing patterns is also a very in trend for this summer although I've only done it very refined way. Also, it's almost a head to toe Topshop outfit!! :S

All that glitters...

When it comes to going out clothes, I absolutely adore sequinned and beaded detail clothing as it enhances a glamorous city-girl look. As you walk into that party/club or social event, heads turn at the sheer elegance and sparkle of a sequinned and beaded outfit, no matter what type of an outfit you are wearing.

Recently, I purchased a lot of beaded/sequinned skirts, tops and dresses. So I decided to do a look with my favourite party skirt with gold beaded detail. With the elegant surroundings of Buckingham Palace at night, the sparkle and glitter really brought the outfit to life.

Military Chic: Boy meets Girl

I fell in love with this burnt orange Topshop blouse the minute I saw it despite it being overpriced (£36!!) and my friend's complete disapproval of the colour. These pictures however really show it's worth it.

The outfit is inspired by the current/last season's Military-wear crossing over into 2011's Boy meets Girl trend (this season's D&G particularly comes to mind!). Rich, dark colours take over the feminine touch of the twisted knot blouse and the jewellery detail and make the outfit come to life in a whole new way. Military Boots and a studded tan belt add to the look. 

Since the quality of the camera was so brilliant, as was my friend (the photographer), these pictures are by far the best on my blog so far. The only thing these photos didn't capture is the gold zip detail on the back and on the sleeves which added to the sharp and classy look of the top. Also, I loved the location; Covent Garden- just the perfect setting for any creative adventure.

Camel + Black

I've wanted to take my blog in a newer direction and actually take photos of looks and styles I've put together myself. So to start of with, I decided to ask a friend to become a my model for a couple of looks I put together.

Look 1

The first look I put together is a going-out look. I personally love the top because it goes so well with any type of high waisted skirt to tuck into, but especially a basic black body con! I also combined the camel coloured jacket to add some in-season colour for a look.. This is a great way to dress it up a little for a poshy place or club or you have the option of creating a bolder look with the statement printed top even without the jacket. The necklace also adds some little minimal and simple detail. If you're looking to stock up on some jewellery, pick thin interesting chain on the necklaces which complement almost any outfit and add just the right amount of detail to an outfit like this.

Look 2

The second outfit is a day-college/uni girl look. It is simple and minimalistic; one of winter's key trends-based look. Again, the camelish colour of the plain dress looks great with the synched-in style of the dress. I liked the button detail on the shoulders of the dress as it creates a toned down look of military style. The Brown Leather Satchel bag with gold detail goes with the 'down to earth uni-girl' look as it is both in style and the colours blend well with the rest of the outfit. Brogues come off a little masculine but they balance the feminine look of the carefree, effortless college girl outfit. I also added a statement chunky necklace and some fun metal and brown bangles. Note that this is a good way to add something extra to a plain dress or top. Minimal fashion can be boring with constructed shapes and defined cuts but you can glam it up with some statement jewellery or a jewelled belt to make it look interesting!
