15 Days, 15 Looks: DAY 8

Another Winter meets Spring outfit where I've gone back to Black. The only colour in this outfit is the colour knitted scarf to bring the outfit life. An outfit which I consider classic and urban-esque. A clutch goes well with such an outfit as it adds the finishing touch!

This outfit has a kind of eastern/oriental influence with the silk patterned dress and a patterned, bohemian bag. The khaki loose knit and grey flats tone the look down for a casual day out to Uni/School or wherever. Grey is a great colour for casual flats; they go with almost any outfit and aren't too dull and cliche like black. It seems a little awkward and clashing to put knitwear with a silk dress but that's the whole point of it and I think it works. You could say this look kind of represents a Winter-meets-Spring with the printed silk and cardigan which is perfect for this time of year.

Stripes + Frills + Bows = Pattern Power

With the Fashion Weeks of the world dominating the spotlight at the moment, I thought it would be a little inspiring to set a trend of my own for the summer. Stylists, designers and anyone in the fashion industry are always saying how the key to the perfect outfit is not to mix too many patterns together or else they will clash and look clumsy together. Well. I think I've created a look that does just that without it looking disastrous in anyway and rather unique but simple at the same time. A great thing about this look is that almost every piece is under £10, proving that the Jan/Feb sales weren't as lousy as everyone thought they were!
A Stripey shirt, a Frilly skirt and Bow tights..I think I've managed to make it work. What do you think?

All that glitters...

When it comes to going out clothes, I absolutely adore sequinned and beaded detail clothing as it enhances a glamorous city-girl look. As you walk into that party/club or social event, heads turn at the sheer elegance and sparkle of a sequinned and beaded outfit, no matter what type of an outfit you are wearing.

Recently, I purchased a lot of beaded/sequinned skirts, tops and dresses. So I decided to do a look with my favourite party skirt with gold beaded detail. With the elegant surroundings of Buckingham Palace at night, the sparkle and glitter really brought the outfit to life.

Military Chic: Boy meets Girl

I fell in love with this burnt orange Topshop blouse the minute I saw it despite it being overpriced (£36!!) and my friend's complete disapproval of the colour. These pictures however really show it's worth it.

The outfit is inspired by the current/last season's Military-wear crossing over into 2011's Boy meets Girl trend (this season's D&G particularly comes to mind!). Rich, dark colours take over the feminine touch of the twisted knot blouse and the jewellery detail and make the outfit come to life in a whole new way. Military Boots and a studded tan belt add to the look. 

Since the quality of the camera was so brilliant, as was my friend (the photographer), these pictures are by far the best on my blog so far. The only thing these photos didn't capture is the gold zip detail on the back and on the sleeves which added to the sharp and classy look of the top. Also, I loved the location; Covent Garden- just the perfect setting for any creative adventure.

Midnight Blues

Firstly, Happy New Yr Everyone! I know I didn't blog as much I would have liked to in 2010 but that is definitely going to change in 2011. There's gonna be a lot more on fashion coming your way so watch this space!

Here is a look I put together centred around a dusty, midnight blue colour that is great for going out at night. With the end of 2010, Xmas and New Year, I thought I'd inspire a new colour other than the christmassy reds, greens, violets, whites and blacks which have been predominantly featured in fashion over the holiday season. As the winter wonderland trend slowly fades out, in come the bold and sexy going out looks!

For the first time ever, I've done a photo shoot, modelling the looks myself! Don't judge...It's only my first time! Thank you soo much, my lovely friends of Floor 4 who helped with make-up, hair and photography!!

It was really hard to capture the satiny feel of the fabric and shift dress look in these photos. What I loved most about the dress was how well the dusty greyish-blue colour went with the style of the dress; a twist on the classic shift dress with a draping low back and synched-in waist. It goes well with any bold or delicate detailed necklace and a pair of black heels.
